# Community guidelines

{% hint style="success" %}
We've laid out a comprehensive set of guidelines to keep our community a safe, respectful, and fun-filled space for everyone. By being a part of Vibe Central, whether it's on our Minecraft server, in our Discord, or any other connected platforms, you're agreeing to abide by these rules/guidelines and help uphold them.\
\
By being a part of vibe, you also confirm that you are at least 13 years of age or older. While our rules outline largely PG-13 conduct, this community is not fully family friendly or suitable for younger folk.\
\
Keep in mind, these guidelines are universally applicable within Vibe Central. They cover all forms of interaction and expression, including but not limited to public and private in-game chats, Discord discussions, text on signs, books, renamed in-game entities, and any other content you contribute to our shared space.\
\
If you think somebody is breaking a rule, please [**let us know** ](/general/discord)through our #contact-staff channel on Discord.
{% endhint %}

1. **Be Kind & Respectful**
   1. **Always approach others with respect and consideration. The principle of mutual respect and understanding should guide all interactions.**

      2. Everyone is to be treated equally without discrimination based on race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other personal characteristics.
      3. Discriminatory language, offensive symbols, or promotion of intolerance is strictly forbidden. We strongly stand against behavior that marginalizes, stigmatizes, or disrespects individuals or groups.
      4. Respect others' requests to cease certain actions or shift the discussion topic.
         1. This rule is intended to promote respectful communication, not to enable unreasonable demands or requests that could negatively impact people and their gameplay, or go against fair play.
      5. Sending messages intended to provoke or upset others, or messages that intentionally instigate disagreements solely to bother someone is not allowed.
   2. **If someone indicates they are uncomfortable with a certain conversation or situation, it’s every participating person's job to adjust their behavior and language in a respectful manner.**
      1. This rule is intended to promote respectful and considerate communication and to accommodate genuine concerns, not to allow misuse or to enable disruption of community dialogue. It should not be used as a means to cease discussion arbitrarily.

      1. Toxic behavior, badmouthing or gloating, is not allowed.
2. **Respect Privacy & Personal Information**

      1. Our aim is to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment for everyone and offer a place people can get away from the stress of the real world. References or discussions involving politics, religion, social issues, health and medicine, environmental concerns, economic policy, legal and criminal justice matters, current or past geopolitical conflicts, or other real-world disputes or controversies is not permitted.

   6. **We have implemented several filters in our in-game chat and Discord server to prevent content that infringes on the rules. Any attempts to evade these filters, whether by adding extra characters or using other methods, are not permitted.**
      1. Despite our best efforts to employ highly accurate and effective filters in place both in-game and on our Discord server to catch rule-breaking content, it’s important to remember that no filter is infallible, and that the ultimate responsibility lies with the individual authoring the content to ensure it aligns with our rules.
      2. Staff members have the final say on interpreting the rules applicability to content, even if content passes through filters.
   7. **Always provide accurate and truthful information when interacting with others. Lying, spreading false information, or intentionally misleading others is not permitted.**
   8. **Do not repeatedly ask or beg for items or other things in the server.**

      1. Detailed references, information, or conversation about servers or communities with fewer than 10,000 members is considered a violation of this rule.

   2. **Nicknames with profanities, strong language or references to disallowed content are not allowed.**
   3. **Using nicknames to impersonate somebody else, even as a joke is not allowed.**
   4. **To ensure nicknames are not confusing with server ranks, nicknames should not include prefixes, suffixes, or other custom titles.**
      1. If your nickname itself may be commonly confused with a server rank, we may require you change or remove it. Staff reserve the right to limit and adjust nicknames as deemed necessary.
6. **Accountability By Association**
   1. **All users are expected to uphold the integrity of the server by not engaging in or supporting any rule-breaking behavior, either directly or indirectly.**
   2. **If you knowingly collaborate with someone who is violating server rules, or knowingly benefit from such actions, you may be held equally accountable for the rule violation(s).**
      1. This applies to but is not limited to actions such as teaming up with a player using cheats, benefiting from stolen items/blocks/entities, concealing rule-breaking activities, etc.

### Section 2 | Gameplay

1. **Builds and Spaces**
   1. **Griefing, stealing, or otherwise modifying anyone's builds or land, even unclaimed, is not allowed unless you have explicit permission from the creator.**
      1. Everything in the resource world is fair game for everybody and is an exception to this rule. There is no claims or ownership of land in the resource world.
      2. Ownership of land is determined by sufficient modification of the area, for example, through constructing a house, farm, or other meaningful structure.
      3. Modifying land within a radius of 500 blocks from someone else's work could be considered a violation of this rule.
         1. Shared spaces like the market, vibetown, or other towns are not subject to this radius restriction. However, careful consideration should be given when deciding where to build in close proximity to others.
      4. Naturally generated structures such as villages, strongholds, ruined portals, desert or jungle temples, or witch huts are not protected by this rule unless another player clearly inhabits them.
      5. Failure to respect the guidelines clearly posted at shared locations, for example, community farms requesting replanting, etc., is considered a violation of the rule.
      6. Claims are offered as an extra precaution to protect your work. Though unclaimed work is still protected under the rules, we highly recommend claiming to eliminate the chance of being randomly griefed. You gain +350 claimable blocks (excluding Y axis) every hour. This value is generally more than enough for members, but for large scale builders we are happy to grant claim block bonuses per staff discretion.
   2. **Ownership of builds created by inactive players may be transferred to another player who requests it, either with the original player's permission or after a period of prolonged inactivity.**
      1. **If you're in our Discord we'll contact (and ping) you requesting permission to transfer your build. You can deny the transfer request and we will respect your decision. However, if we don't hear back in 3 days, we will proceed with the transfer.**
         1. **For members, the inactivity period required for a non-shop build to become eligible for transferring is 1 month minimum.**
         2. **For VIP players of any tier, the inactivity period for a non-shop build to become eligible for transferring is 2 months minimum.**
         3. **For Benefactors or retired staff, all builds are non-transferrable despite inactivity.**
         4. **Staff reserve the right to deny transfers for special cases as they see fit.**
         5. **Once a build is transferred, ownership of the land is also transferred.**
         6. **The inactivity period needed for shops to be transferred are different than other builds. See the Community Market Standards below for details.**
   3. **Very low effort builds may be demolished by staff without prior warning.**
   4. **Claims in shared spaces should be made mindfully. Claims may be resized by admins to be more reasonable, or removed all-together.**
   5. **Do not create claims on land you do not intend to occupy and build in/nearby.**
   6. **If you are on another player’s property, you must respect their space and abide by their requests to leave or refrain from certain actions within their space.**
      1. You need permission from the property owner before you save a personal or community waypoint that is within 500 blocks.
2. **Waypoints**
   1. **Setting community waypoints (warps) for personal purposes is not allowed. Community waypoints are specifically for public and notable locations like town spawns, shops, certain notable biomes or world generation, etc. intended to be shared with and utilized by the community. For private land like your base, personal waypoints (sethomes) should be used instead.**
   2. **Community or personal waypoints can only be set on or nearby another's private land with the landowner's explicit permission.**
      1. Any land outside of shared spaces, such as towns or the market, and without a community waypoint (warp) set by the landowner, is considered private land.
      2. Setting a community or personal waypoint at or nearby somebody's private land without permission is considered intent to steal or grief and is treated as such.
      3. Land within towns, markets, or other shared areas is not considered private.
         1. In this case, personal waypoints (sethomes) can be set closeby (but not directly at/in builds) without needing direct permission. For example, setting a personal waypoint (sethome) by your favorite market shop. However, community waypoints (warps) still cannot be set anywhere on another's non-private land without permission.
      4. Saving or exposing the world coordinates or location of private land as a by any means, (ex. a client side waypoints mod) substitute for setting a waypoint is not allowed and is treated the same as setting an unauthorized personal/community waypoint.
      5. Entering or returning to somebody's private land at a later time (ex. after being teleported there) by any means is not allowed without their explicit permission.
   3. **Staff reserves the right to review or remove any waypoints as they see fit to uphold these rules. This may be done without prior warning or vcn refund (if its a warp).**
3. **Community Market Standards**
   1. **Personal structures such as bases/homes, mines, farms, and similar constructions should be positioned away from the market area. This ensures the market space can be solely utilized for trade and commerce.**
      1. Any personal structures should be at least 600 blocks from any part of the market to allow for future expansion.
      2. Living in the market is not allowed.
   2. **Shops built within a 25 block radius of official waypoint spawn platforms should be no larger than 8 blocks in length or width.**
      1. Larger shops should be built further away from spawns.
      2. The location of shops that exceed 25 blocks in length or width require clearance from a staff member before being constructed in the market.
         1. Generally, the larger the shop, the further away from spawn platforms it should be to be courteous of others shops' reachability.
   3. **Shop chests require a meaningful structure built around/by them that should be no smaller than 5x5 blocks in size.**
   4. **Shops should consist of more than one shop chest and sell/buy more than one item type**
      1. The auction house should be used for selling of such items.
      2. Specific cases for valuable or custom items (ex. special banner patterns) are waived from this rule. If you are unsure if your case infringes on this rule, please ask a staff member.
   5. **Players are allowed to create multiple shops, so long as they are spread out throughout the market and not built nearby each other.**
      1. Constructing any additional shop past 5 shops requires clearance from a staff member.
   6. **Shop and shop chest guidelines do not apply to shops/shop chests set up outside of the market region.**
   7. **Shops with inactive owners (1 or more months of inactivity) may be auctioned off to another player or demolished by staff to ensure the market shops stay lively.**
   8. **Very low effort shops may be demolished by staff without prior warning.**
   9. **We typically will contact you and request structures violating these rules to be demolished by you, but if it is not done in a timely manner or must be removed immediately, staff will handle the demolition and apply further sanctions if necessary.**
4. **Auction House Etiquette**
   1. **Auction listings should be fairly priced and reflect the item's rarity and quantity.**
   2. **Auctions should have value, common items in small quantities should not be listed.**
   3. **Items of similar type should be bundled into a single auction instead of individually to prevent spam. Bundled auctions can be created using /ah sell \<price> -b.**
5. **Trading & Scamming**
   1. **Scamming or deceiving other players out of items, vibecoin, or other belongings in any way is not allowed.**
   2. **All trades should be conducted honestly, with full disclosure and agreement from all parties involved.**
6. **PvP and Teaming**
   1. **PvP in the survival world is only allowed if all parties involved have given their explicit permission.**
      1. Simply having PvP toggled on is not sufficient as consent.
   2. **No teaming in the PvP arena or Party Games unless it is mutually agreed upon the whole lobby.**
7. **Environmental Responsibility**
   1. **Avoid uselessly or excessively damaging the landscape of the world, i.e. placing blocks under your feet as you travel, leaving hat-cut trees or hanging blocks, making dirt towers, etc.**
      1. If you create any temporary structures, like a one night dirt hut, placing a crafting table, or spawning a boat in the wilderness, dismantle them once you are done to keep the world clean.
      2. The resource world is fully exempt to this rule.
8. **Idling (AFKing)**
   1. **AFKing farming in moderation is okay, but should never require any form of auto clicking or auto movement.**
   2. **Cumulatively AFK farming longer than 12 hours within a 24 hour period is not allowed.**
      1. Extended AFK periods past 12 hours are only allowed if not for the purpose of farming.
   3. **Note that the server restarts daily at 4:55 AM EST, but you will be auto-reconnected once the restart finishes.**

### **Section 3 | Server Etiquette & Fair Play**

1. **Do not intentionally impair the server performance or other player’s games.**
   1. **The construction of any kind of redstone lag machines or other contraptions that are intended to impair the server or players is prohibited.**
   2. **Intentionally impacting server performance through actions intended to overload the server is strictly disallowed.**
   3. **Impacting other nearby players' games through actions that heavily impact their FPS or their server connectivity is strictly disallowed.**
   4. **If you have a meaningful build or contraption that disrupts server performance, you may be contacted to adjust or downsize it.**
      1. In severe circumstances, the build may be adjusted or removed entirely by staff before attempting to contact you.
2. **All functionalities and features available must be utilized for their designated purposes.**
   1. **It is prohibited to exploit any features or repurpose them for unintended uses.**
      1. Modifying or manipulating functionalities beyond their original purpose, particularly for personal benefit, to cause disruption, or to disrupt the balance of the game, is not allowed.
      2. If any part of a particular feature is unclear, it is your responsibility to reach out and ask for clarification.
3. **Cheating of any form, abusing exploits, or using any client modifications that give you an advantage over users playing on vanilla is not allowed.**
   1. **Do not exploit any loopholes, glitches, or bugs that you find within the features provided.**
      1. If found, report them to staff privately. We reward bug hunters. ;)
4. **Allowed game modifications**
   1. Optimization mods like Sodium, Optifine, etc.
   2. Cosmetic or utility mods that don't offer any unfair advantages.
      1. Full bright mods, and inventory sorting or Mouse Wheelie mods are an exception to this rule and are permitted.
   3. Custom HUDs that display fps, coordinates, biome, world time, clicks per second, armor, key clicks, or similar text/icon metrics.
   4. World maps and minimaps (cave finders are not permitted).
   5. Litematica for building assistance by previewing schematics (auto-building functions are not permitted).
   6. If you are unsure whether a specific game modification is allowed, please ask a staff member.
5. **Attempting to circumvent any restrictions or punishments placed on you is prohibited.**
   1. **This includes but is not limited to:**
      1. Joining on an alternate account after being restricted or punished, with intent to use restricted features on it.
      2. Using signs, books, or other methods to speak while muted.
6. **Playing or joining on multiple Minecraft accounts is not allowed without explicit staff permission.**
   1. Multiple accounts that join under the same address are subject to investigation by staff to ensure fair use.
   2. There are limited allowed uses for alt accounts. If you do not have staffs explicit permission to join and use an alt account for your specific purpose, it may be assumed you are using it for malicious purposes and punishments or restrictions will be applied to all associated accounts.
      1. Using alts in any way to unfairly benefit yourself, such as storing money or combining rewards is disallowed.
   3. Multiple accounts under the same address (i.e. playing with your sibling or friend at home on the same WiFi) are allowed and do not require staff permission.
      1. We may ask for more details if more than a few individual accounts join from your address. Staff reserve the right to limit or disallow multiple accounts connecting from the same address under their discretion.
7. **Reports to staff**
   1. **Provide accurate and honest information: all reports to staff are expected to be legitimate. Fabricating or exaggerating report details is not allowed.**
   2. **While staff do their best to monitor the community, we can’t catch everything and rely on the community to help us maintain a safe and enjoyable space on vibe. If you observe any actions or behaviors that you think might violate the server rules, appear questionable, or are inappropriate, please report them to the staff immediately.**
      1. The preferable method for contacting staff is through our Discord ticket system. Join our /discord and link, then go to the #contact-staff channel to create a private channel with you and the staff team.
      2. For urgent situations, please try to pass your report to a player who has Discord access and can contact us directly through tickets.
      3. If you are unable to use Discord, you can contact staff in-game by checking if any online players have a blue ⌘ Staff icon and are either \[O] Owner, \[A] Admin, or \[H] Helper/Mod by holding down the TAB key to bring the player list up. You can contact them in chat, or by private messaging them using /msg \<name> \<msg>.
         1. If no staff are online, you can /mail send kiiix \<msg>.

## Moderator / Helper

Mods do all the same things as members, but have additional responsibilities designated in surface-level community management to ensure the server stays fun and enjoyable for all, such as muting or jailing rule breakers, and raising issues whether related to the server or specific users to administrators.

While Helper and Moderator refer to the same role in the server, Moderator is the official title. H is used in-game for prefixing, as M is already occupied by Members.

Interested in joining our team? See the [staff application info page](/general/misc./staff-application-info)

## Administrator

Admins play an important role in server management and daily operations, handling things like final discretion on Mod cases, issuing bans, restoring data from backups & rolling back damage from griefs, assisting in the rollout of new server features/changes, and maintaining direction among Mods to ensure a smooth server environment.

# Leveling

## Ⓔ Vibe Experience

Similar to Minecraft's xp, we have our own experience and leveling system for the server. You'll automatically level up when you earn enough VXP. Earn it being active, doing quests, and generally doing things on the server. Player's server level are shown next to their name in chat, tab, and above their player, prefixed with a star symbol.

{% hint style="success" %}
Y**our server level is a metric of how experienced & well-known you are around vibe**\
It shows in[ chat](/general/rich-chat), and above your player in your [nametag](/general/misc./nametags)
{% endhint %}

### Coloring

* Level colors smoothly transition on a gradient. Before the starting yellow color at level 10, level color is gray from 0-9.
* Each line in the image below represents +5 levels, and +2 levels after 100, up until level 200.

### Styling

* The level color becomes bolded at and after level 50.
* At level 150 and above, an animated bar (\&k) appears before the level.
* All level colors above level 9 display with their own gradient from lighter to darker.

## Connection Location

To help build a sense of global connection and make juggling timezones easier, the server displays your country (estimated from your IP address) when you log in. It’s a simple way to show where our members are from and to highlight others from your region. Your actual IP address is never publicly shown!

We respect your privacy, while there is currently no built in toggle system for join country, members can have the message hidden per request - no questions asked, just contact staff!

## Membership Length

When logging in, the amount of days since you first joined vibe as well as the associated Season is displayed to give others a sense of how long you've been around the community.

{% hint style="info" %}
You can view the exact join time, date, and Season of you or another online player on demand using the `/firstjoin [username]` command
{% endhint %}

# Nicknames

Nicknames allow you to change your display name on the server. They appear anywhere your username would appear while you're online. Nicknames must be between 3-14 characters and can be changed at any time.

Your nickname must be a real nickname you associate with, containing no strong language or references to sensitive or offensive topics, and abides by the [server rules](/general/community-guidelines).

{% hint style="info" %}
In the tablist, your real username will be right-aligned for players reference. Players may also use the **`/realname <nickname>`** command to view the username behind a nickname.
{% endhint %}

# Glows

Available as a new perk for [VIPs tier 3+](https://github.com/vibecentralmc/wiki/blob/main/general/profile-and-customization/broken-reference/README.md), **`/glows`** or **`/glow`** allows you to choose a glow outline for your character, available in 16 colors! You can change or remove it any time.

## Current games

### Coin flip

On a random interval, a coin flip game will appear in chat with a value between 8 and 64 vibecoin. Place your bet on what it will land on by typing "heads" or "tails" in chat. If you bet correctly, you earn the coins value of vibecoin in your balance. If you bet incorrectly, you lose the coins value of vibecoin from your balance. You must have at least the coins value to place a bet on the coin. The coin "lands" after 25 seconds.

<summary>A word on randomness and computers</summary>

Creating true randomness with computers is a challenging task. Unlike humans, who can rely on inherent uncertainties and external factors for randomness, computers are deterministic machines that follow specific algorithms. Achieving absolute randomness is difficult because the underlying processes in a computer are ultimately predictable.

With that said, we have made code based enhancements to ensure a more random flip. We have implemented a more reliable source of randomness called `SecureRandom` instead of the default java supplied `Random`. By using `SecureRandom`, additional sources of randomness are incorporated to enhance the unpredictability of the generated outcomes, making the chances of getting "heads" or "tails" closer to an equal 50/50 distribution.

# Contributing to the Wiki

We're always looking for contributors to help get the wiki updated and in tip top shape. As of 7/10/25, if you've found something missing, outdated or incorrect, you can help us improve the Wiki by editing it directly on GitHub! This page explains how to get started and make your first contribution.

{% hint style="success" %}
**This guide assumes you have little to no experience with GitHub**

For experienced folk, you can skip the explanation and simply [fork the repo](https://github.com/vibecentralmc/wiki) and edit it with your preferred editor.\
\
**Please review the** [**editing guidelines**](#important-info-to-know-when-making-edits) **before making any edits!**
{% endhint %}

## Step 1 - Access the wiki repository on GitHub

First, head over to the GitHub website and [create an account or login](https://github.com/) if you haven't yet. A GitHub account is required to propose edits.

Once you're logged in, you can head over to the Wiki repository at <https://github.com/vibecentralmc/wiki>. This official repository page shows all the Wiki's most up-to-date page files and assets that are displayed nicely here on the GitBook frontend.

{% hint style="info" %}
For your privacy, we recommend going to <https://github.com/settings/emails> and enabling "**Keep my email addresses private**". This option uses a GitHub relay email to sign commits in place of your account email.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://1928431324-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0jN7OpaUF8zRMNlkYif3%2Fuploads%2FOhqV649gRo7YUW2iDP4u%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=1805704c-f8eb-4b29-8e58-e4aec854c4a8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Step 2 - Create a fork of the repository

A "fork" on GitHub is a personal copy of a repository. Your fork is a working copy of the wiki where you'll make all your proposed edits.

To create your fork, simply click the "Fork" button on the top right of the repository (see image above).

Your created fork of the wiki will live at *<https://github.com/**`yourname`**/wiki>*

Even for multiple contributions over time, you'll always use the same fork. GitHub provides options (as outlined below) to sync your fork with the latest updates from the main repository as needed.

If you enjoy extra organization, you can leave your base fork free of edits and create a new branch to work in instead. Branches are essentially forks of your fork, and allow you to have separate working copies of the wiki for each of your pull requests. You can create and swap branches by using the dropdown in the top left, by default titled "main".

But, if you don't mind always building off the same working copy, or prefer a simpler experience, it's totally fine to not worry about branches and leave everything as is!

<figure><img src="https://1928431324-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0jN7OpaUF8zRMNlkYif3%2Fuploads%2FVBFfKGi8NS4EcRdx7amo%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=8ca82052-0a51-4a12-b55d-d22e046ecdfc" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can ensure you're on your fork by looking at the top - note how it says "forked from vibecentralmc/wiki".

### Understanding up to date status

Note the section near the top that shows "This branch is up to date with vibecentralmc/wiki:main". This means that both the official wiki repository and your fork are currently identical. As you or others make changes, this status will update. For example:

* "This branch is 3 commits ahead of vibecentralmc" means you have made and saved three changesets/commits to your fork that are not yet in the official wiki.
* "This branch is 1 commit behind vibecentralmc" means the official wiki has one changeset/commit that your fork doesn't yet have, and you'll need to sync your fork to get it using the "Sync fork" button.

### **Understanding commits**

In version control systems like Git, which are often used for codebases and other collaborative projects like wikis, a 'commit' or 'changeset' is essentially a group of one or more edits you made to the project at a specific point in time. You can think of it like saving a document and taking a snapshot of just those changes.

* **On GitHub, when you 'commit' changes,** you're packaging up a set of all your most recent changes since your last commit (like adding a new sentence, fixing a typo, etc.) and giving it a brief name & description of your primary changes, like "Fix typo in rules page" or "Create Skills page".
* **In GitHub, each commit builds on the previous one,** creating a chronological history of all edits to the project. This ensures everything is tracked and can be reverted or referenced if needed. You can explore all the commit history by clicking on "commits" in the top right of the project, and even browse the entire repository as a snapshot when a specific commit was made.

## Step 3 - Make your contributions in your fork

The Wiki pages use markdown formatting, similar to Discord. For example, you can bold text by surrounding it with two asterisk like `**this**` .

A large majority of the markdown that will be helpful to know can be learned at:

* <https://gitbook.com/docs/creating-content/formatting/markdown>
* <https://www.markdownguide.org/basic-syntax/>

But for most purposes, you should be able to get the gist of it by just looking at existing pages on GitHub for reference and comparing their raw markdown and their rendered previews.

### **Important info to know when making edits**

{% hint style="success" %}

* Don't worry or bog yourself down about the complex formattings. Just focus on the content and accuracy of your contributions. **Any complex formattings can be added and fixed by staff later on - the raw content itself is what matters the most!**
* **Avoid adding your own images directly**, and opt for writing placeholders. ex. "\*image of menu here\*". This is so all screenshots across the entire wiki can be visually consistent and from the same game profile.
* GitBook uses special formatting and tokens to represent things like hint boxes (the box this text is in), that GitHub does not support rendering in previews. You can ignore these special tokens in the GitHub editor.
  {% endhint %}

**Now all that's left to do is find what you want to edit or add!**

### Editing an existing wiki page

You can find Table of Contents and quickly navigate to any existing wiki page by opening the `SUMMARY.md` file which is at the bottom of the repository page in the files section (highlighted in red):

<figure><img src="https://1928431324-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0jN7OpaUF8zRMNlkYif3%2Fuploads%2FTyCm0h4dPLy1rcusoyF9%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=a414b179-ba04-4f8f-ad2e-b05337b23ed3" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="https://1928431324-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0jN7OpaUF8zRMNlkYif3%2Fuploads%2F2Miq8pi1zrYDha8KiXvy%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=2d3bfba4-f62e-4fde-8976-d9fa4e9a892d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Once you open the page you'd like to edit, you'll see its preview opened. Click the edit button in the top right to make it editable (highlighted in red).

<figure><img src="https://1928431324-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0jN7OpaUF8zRMNlkYif3%2Fuploads%2FqE1D6s38f2LRlYsJAjJg%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=5e17f056-0078-474a-a0d0-ac619027a81d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Now you can freely edit the page's markdown! Swap between "edit" and "preview" at the top left to see the rendered view of the page.

<figure><img src="https://1928431324-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0jN7OpaUF8zRMNlkYif3%2Fuploads%2Fp0hIUCNUtMR0v8igPzfH%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=c7f2ac43-05db-459b-b996-08f97b554914" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

After you've made edits, click the green "commit changes" button in the top right and explain your changes. This will commit your edits to **your fork only** of the repository.

You can continue editing files like this and creating commits in your repository until you're ready to submit the changes to be merged into the live wiki.

### Creating a brand new wiki page or section

To create a new wiki page or section, navigate to the section where you'd like it to be, (ex. in the "survival" folder/section) and use the "Add file" button at the top right. Remember to name pages with the ".md" file extension!

{% hint style="success" %}
Copy and paste the new wiki page template below to get a solid base to work from for adding new pages.

All pages should follow this basic starting format, including the page title, description, and section headings with subheadings with respective empty lines.
{% endhint %}

```markup
# Page Title
A short description explaining what the feature is that this page is about
## Section Heading
Section content
### Section subheading
Subheading content
## Another Section Heading
More paragraph content, oh look a list!
* Bullet point item 1
* Bullet point item 2
```

{% hint style="warning" %}
If you create a new page, it has to be added to the `SUMMARY.md` file!
{% endhint %}

## Step 4 - Submit your contributions to be merged into the live Wiki

When you're ready to submit your changes to the official wiki live at [https://wiki.vibecentral.xyz](https://wiki.vibecentral.xyz/), head back to your fork's main page at *<https://github.com/**`yourname`**/wiki>* and click the "Contribute" button, then "Open Pull Request"

<figure><img src="https://1928431324-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0jN7OpaUF8zRMNlkYif3%2Fuploads%2FeAwml2Wjcdl4jXns8BDe%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=c4414663-bd5d-443e-84d8-069018bfd872" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="https://1928431324-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0jN7OpaUF8zRMNlkYif3%2Fuploads%2FIWllX33DcyM315ZNxDyw%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=4769f777-8064-4752-a3b2-1339e817231d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

On the pull request page, just add a title and write a description of your changes, then click "Create pull request". None of the options at the top need to be adjusted :)

When you create a pull request/PR, you're submitting your changes from your personal working copy / fork of the wiki to be merged or "pulled" into the official, main version.

PRs also serve as dedicated conversation threads. Staff members can reply in your PR to ask questions about your changes or request further edits if needed. If everything looks good, has no merge conflicts, and meets the wiki's standards, staff will approve your PR! Once approved, all your changes will be merged into the live wiki within minutes.

And that's it! Thank you for taking interest in contributing to the wiki, seriously, you're awesome!!

{% hint style="success" %}
Keep an eye out on #wiki-updates in Discord for updates to your PR, or use the "Watch" button in GitHub to receive email notifications. If it's your first PR, you can also request your Wiki Contributor badge in Discord once your PR is accepted!
{% endhint %}

## Using a text editor on your PC instead of GitHub's website

If you prefer to use a text editor on your pc, such as Notepad++ or another preferred editor to edit the wiki files, you can easily do so by cloning your fork locally using the [GitHub Desktop](https://github.com/apps/desktop) app or of course git commands if you're an experienced user.

Using GitHub Desktop, click Add Repository, and then Clone Repository. Select the type to be URL, and then supply your fork's repository URL or "yourname/wiki"

This will locally download the repository to your pc. Then, you can navigate to the files locally (by default, GitHub Desktop stores repositories in `Documents/GitHub`

# Skye

Skye is our cherished chat bot made to help answer commonly asked server questions, but can also do a bit of casual chatting too! Skye was officially released on the server on 3/28/20, but has since been updated many times and become a lot smarter.

<figure><img src="https://1928431324-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0jN7OpaUF8zRMNlkYif3%2Fuploads%2FvSLKTtrnVLe9vVDIhiPX%2F92E7C53F-1942-4790-8316-CE2C826C63FA.png?alt=media&amp;token=fb1d092b-4a24-43cd-8e62-01cc2b144982" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

While Skye is generating a response, you will see "Skye is thinking...", "Skye is replying...", and "Skye finished replying" action bar notifications (as well as "Response failed" if an issue occurs). Additionally, you will see chat notifications when Skye begins and stops focusing on your messages. These notifications makes interactions smoother and gives you a better sense of Skye's state by giving you real-time confirmations.

If you're actively chatting and have Skye's focus, but need to message another player and don't want Skye to interrupt, you can now simply ask Skye to unfocus (by either asking fully, or just writing 'unfocus'). You can also start your message with "**`.!`**" for Skye to ignore it, but not unfocus from you. This helps prevent Skye from replying when unwanted.

## Technical

Skye works by comparing the similarity of public chat messages to a local Q\&A library of prewritten potential questions and and answers related to the server. Each Q\&A node is equip with unique settings and thresholds, and if your message is similar enough to the nodes inputs and satisfies its requirements, Skye sends an answer from the that node. If your message doesn't match any nodes, Skye queries a fine tuned LLM to generate a conversational response.\
\
To make Skye less intrusive out of the blue, some nodes require you to start or end your message with "Skye", while others do not (ex. saying "hello" should not trigger Skye's response without addressing Skye, whereas a specific server question should trigger Skye's response regardless). Once you have interacted with Skye (unless the node is specified as an end of conversation), most other nodes temporarily lose their requirement if present for you to start or end with Skye for a more natural dialogue. This is referred to as 'focusing' on to players messages. In LLM queries, Skye can dynamically include special tokens to dictate and control focus based on the context and conversation flow.\
\
For longer responses, Skye will break the content down into multiple messages, each with a dynamic delay based on the length of the last sent portion of response for a natural reading speed. This creates a more natural feeling interaction and prevents a huge wall of text immediately appearing in chat.

For very large responses, Skye will send one message and tunicate it with a \[..hover to see full message..] hoverable that shows the full response. This is to prevent Skye flooding chat with a bunch of messages in big replies.\
\
To prevent abuse, most nodes have per-player and or global cooldowns, and Skye will reject answering another question while actively replying to a different question. Skye has numerous checks and limits in place to prevent misuse or reverse engineering.

As of 5/24, Skye received a major v5 update that leverages a fine tuned large language model for general dialogue in addition to the Q\&A library (previously referred to as the conversational library), now refined specifically for server knowledge and Q\&A instead of also including some conversational inputs and outputs. This hybrid approach keeps costs manageable and significantly enhances Skye's conversational abilities. Now, when chatting with Skye, if your input doesn't match any Q\&A conversational nodes, Skye queries the LLM to generate a response. Our long term goal for Skye is to fully integrate AI to answer both server questions and general conversation. However, currently the costs associated with a fully AI fledged Skye are too high.

As of 3/25, Skye was updated to v5.8, which introduced new experimental features like periodic chat participation and retainment of a small rolling context window including public chat messages, level up, deaths, etc. to provide more contextual responses and engage across LLM sessions from users.

You can choose to permanently opt-out of Skye usage & AI processing using the **/skyeoptout** command.

# Hub

The hub is the space between all gamemodes, and it's where newcomers first spawn. Largely hand built and packed with easter eggs and a whole cave system, it's a neat place to hang out & explore!

* The number following the location abbreviation is the players [server level](/general/leveling).
* The abbreviation in \[ ] brackets is the players [rank](/general/ranks).
* Following rank is the players chosen [nickname ](/general/profile-and-customization/nicknames)/ display name.
* Blue "zZz" text appears after display names if that player is AFK.
* The gray text on the right is the players Minecraft username.
* The yellow text furthest to the right shows the players ping to the server; the time in milliseconds it takes for the server to send data to that player and vice versa.

The bottom of the tablist shows some of your individual statistics for quick reference, including your ping, hours played, and server level. Server health is also displayed so you can identify if lag you're experiencing is on your end or the server (very rare).

# WorldEdit

WorldEdit is a popular building tool developed by sk89q. It allows players the ability to mass edit large quantities of blocks through commands to assist in creative building.

We offer a more user friendly version of WorldEdit available in [creative plots](/creative-plots/creative-plots) & the [parkour builder](/parkour/parkour) to help you speed up your building. Advanced WE features like brushes are not available to encourage more unique, carefully composed handmade builds. With the abilities available, we hope to reduce annoying grunt work such as filling big areas with the same block, clearing out large amounts of blocks, and so forth.

Operations are primarily applied on cuboid selections. Selections are visualized with purple particles, and other players' selections are visualized with orange flame particles. You can only create one selection at a time.

A single operation can change up to 500,000 blocks or 500 tiles.

### Creating a selection

WE selection creation is very much the same as survival [land claiming](/survival/land-claiming) selections, however with WorldEdit, Y axis (up and down) is taken into account. To create a cuboid selection, use the 'wand' tool - a golden axe. While holding the axe, right-click the block you'd like for your first corner, and then left-click in the opposite corner to create a cuboid selection. If done correctly, the selection will be visualized with purple particles (make sure you have particles enabled in your games settings). This cube represents the blocks that will be affected by operations. See the commands below to see how to execute various operations.

Unlike vanilla WorldEdit, operations on vibe are performed asynchronously and thus unmetered, meaning you can change as many blocks as you'd like in a single operation. The server will complete operations as fast as it can without impacting its performance, which is typically pretty quick unless the server is under substantial load due to player count or other factors. Do note that very large operations may take some extra time. If an operation cannot be executed immediately, a progress bar will be shown at the top of your screen.

### Commands

* **`//wand`**\
  Allows you to select two positions to create a cuboid selection. Use //set or another WorldEdit command to modify the space in between the two positions. The cuboid is visualized with purple particles, and other players' cuboids are visualized with orange flame particles.\\
* **`//set <block,block,block,etc>`**\
  Sets your WorldEdit selection to a target block or mix of blocks\\
* **`//replace <target block(s)> <with block(s)>`**\
  Replaces target blocks within your selection with new blocks\\
* **`//fixwater <radius>`**\
  **`//fixlava <radius>`**\
  Turns the body of liquid you're in (within the radius) to source blocks\\
* **`//drain <radius>`**\
  Drain water/lava in a body of liquid within the specified radius of you. You must be in the target body of liquid\\
* **`//gmask <block(s)>`**\
  Sets a global mask for your WorldEdit operations. When a global mask is active, all other blocks not included in the mask will be ignored\\
* **`//deselect`**\
  **`//desel`**\
  Deselects your current WorldEdit selection\\
* **`//undo`**\
  Undoes your last WorldEdit operation\\
* **`//copy`**\
  **`//paste`**\
  Copy your current selection or paste your chipboard relative to your copy position\\
* **`//rotate <deg>`**\
  Rotate your clipboard\\
* **`//flip [direction]`**\
  Flip your clipboard the specified direction, or if no direction is specified, the direction you are currently facing\\
* **`/up <num>`**\
  Teleport up x amount of blocks and place a platform under you

# PvP arena

The server features a set-kit pvp arena with no respawn penalty, kill streaks, far bow hit announcements, and speed & levitation platforms. The arena is intended to be a fun place to mess around and battle others with a fair item selection\
\
Use **`/pvp`** to teleport to the arena!

### World generation

This season we're excited to offer a world generated with a custom version of [Terralith](https://www.stardustlabs.net/datapacks#Terralith), adding over 85 new biomes in addition to Vanilla ones. Terralith's new biomes and terrain types, including canyons, shattered biomes, floating islands, volcanos, and 10 new cave types, provide endless exploration opportunities and ensure there is a perfect place for everyone.

Using all vanilla blocks, the project takes advantage of the games ability to set custom biome colors, adding all new kinds of creative biomes, realistic and fantastical.

### Difficulty

The smp runs on the base games normal difficulty, however some tweaks modify the true experienced difficulty, such as mob health and strength adjustments as well as modifications to how hunger works.

### Entering the world

The primary way to enter the world is through [randomized teleportation](/survival/random-teleporting-rtp). To significantly decrease the chances players rtp nearby your base, travel past 20,000 blocks from X0, Z0, as the outer 5k blocks past 20k are outside of RTP radius.

{% hint style="success" %}
For new players the first RTP will be free of charge.
{% endhint %}

If you are unable to afford a RTP, you can travel on foot from a [community warp](/survival/tweak-list/community-waypoints). Learn how to [make vibecoin](/survival/economy#making-money), and [vote every 24 hours](/general/misc./voting) for 50 vibecoin among other rewards :)

### Season based

The SMP operates on a season based rotation. Based on community retention (roughly every 12 months) we completely refresh the smp, including the overworld, nether, end, economy, inventories, community warps, etc. Our goal is to give sufficient time for everybody to reach end game and feel satisfied with their work, while also ensuring new content is always available for everyone in the future.

New seasons only affect the smp itself. Member or vip ranks, server level, profile information like your nickname, pronouns, preferences, etc. and content in creative plots and parkour are never reset in new seasons.

{% hint style="info" %}
The smp is currently in its 9th season, which began June 16, 2026
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
See the [seasons FAQ page](/survival/smp-survival-s8/season-information) to learn more about seasons

# Season information

{% hint style="success" %}
We are happy to provide answers to any questions or concerns you have, no matter how small. If you find this page does not address a question or concern you have regarding seasons, please use the #contact-staff channel on our [Discord](/general/discord) :)
{% endhint %}

## What's a season?

The SMP operates on a season based rotation. Based on community retention (roughly every 12 months) we completely refresh the smp, including all the smp worlds, skills, economy, inventories, community warps, etc. Our goal is to give sufficient time for everybody to reach end game and feel satisfied with their work, while also ensuring new content is always available for everyone in the future.

New seasons only affect the smp itself. Players member or vip ranks, server level, and content in creative plots & parkour are never reset in new seasons. **Play time is season based, so it will be reset!**

{% hint style="info" %}
The smp is currently in its 9th season, which began June 16, 2026
{% endhint %}

## **What isn't reset?**

New seasons only affect the smp itself. Member or vip ranks, server level, profile information like your nickname, pronouns, preferences, etc. and content in creative plots and parkour are never reset in new seasons.

## **Why do we do seasons?**

Our number one goal is to keep everyone engaged and happy. We want to make sure you can continue to enjoy what you love doing and have the best experience on the server as possible. With that said, when a smp gets to a point where the world is all explored and most people have reached end game it can be hard to keep everyone interested in playing. Motivation runs dry and and many players will get bored, stop playing, and move on to a new server for a fresh experience.\
\
In our years of maintaining the server, we've found that a seasonal approach to content and gameplay has been incredibly effective in maintaining and keeping the community we all love alive and prosperous. Seasons keep the server fresh, interesting, and makes sure as many people as possible can enjoy the server for a long time across multiple worlds, instead of just on one world.\
\
We always give ample notice before a new season begins. We will make frequent announcements on our [discord ](https://site.vibecentral.xyz/dc)and in-game to ensure everybody is updated and aware when a new season is on it's way. We will never suddenly implement a new season without giving over 2 weeks notice.

## **How can I save my work?**

* Through use of mods like Litematica, you can save small sections of the world into a singleplayer creative or survival world. Litematica requires Fabric, a mod loader. We also release the world seed to allow you to generate the same terrain and paste your builds in the same part of the copied singleplayer world.\
  \
  [Fabric installation tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNz0z1Aht1U)\
  [Litematica download](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/litematica)\
  [Litematica copy and paste tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTF3XYh7T58\&t=36s)\\
* If you're unable to get Litematica working, we are happy to create .schematic files of your work for you. Schematic files are a kind of file that can store MC build data, and are widely supported among lots of Minecraft related mods & software. With these files, you can store and import them to your worlds using various mods and software like AmuletMC, WorldEdit or Litematica.\\
* Additionally, if builds are small enough, we may consider allowing you to copy and paste them into the [creative plotworld](https://github.com/vibecentralmc/wiki/blob/main/survival/smp-survival-s8/broken-reference/README.md) using our server side [WorldEdit](/general/misc./worldedit).

## **Can't we just keep the same world?**

We understand that the impermanence of the world can be upsetting and demotivating, though unfortunately, as a public survival server we can't confidently sustain an engaged and growing community without new seasons. We hope you can take inspiration from all the memories and journeys you have throughout smp seasons to try and experience new things and ultimately enjoy your experience to the fullest extent throughout a long period of time.\
\
We also provide options to save your work and continue your survival in a single player world. See the section above for more information.

## **Will there be a world download?**

Due to the sheer file size of the world hitting over 100GB, and for respect for players privacy, we do not provide public downloads for the entire world.\
\
We do provide options to save your work and continue your survival in a single player world. See the section above for more information.

## **How will I know when the next season is coming?**

We always give notice before a new season begins, and will make announcements on our[ Discord ](/general/discord)and in-game to ensure everybody is updated and aware when a new season is on its way.

## D**oes the world seed change?**

Yep! new seasons worlds are freshly generated, opening up an entire unexplored world to everybody.

## W**ill there be a season recap?**

Per server tradition, at the end of seasons, we release a special recap page will be available for you to view. The page shows lots of nifty and fun stats from the season, like total hours played by all players, total blocks placed/broken, and more! The page will be announced in our [Discord](/general/discord) server shortly after seasons end.

# Tree feller

When cutting a tree using an axe tree feller will be activated, making the entire tree fall. Durability loss for each log broken will apply to your item (unbreaking is taken into account). If your axe does not have enough durability to cut down the whole tree, has too little leaves, or you're crouching, tree feller will not activate.

# Vein miner

When mining ore veins, crouch to activate vein miner. Durability loss for each ore broken will apply to your item (unbreaking and looting is taken into account). If your pickaxe does not have enough durability to mine the whole vein, or you're not crouching, vein miner will not activate.

# Biome titles

As you navigate the world and enter new biomes, you will see a subtle title showing the name of the biome you've entered. This is especially helpful with our custom world generation with Terralith, as it adds MANY new biomes.\
\
After a specific biome title is shown, it will be put on a cooldown, but if you enter a new biome you haven't recently had a title for, it will be displayed. Biome titles do not show within the smp spawn or market zones.

You can toggle biome titles on or off any time using the **`/tbt`** (toggle biome title) command.

# Utility flight

We provide xp-powered (or, free with [VIP 3+](https://github.com/vibecentralmc/wiki/blob/main/survival/tweak-list/broken-reference/README.md)) flight at a reduced speed to aid you in building and maneuvering around areas. A single level of experience lasts roughly 30 seconds, putting 10 levels of xp at 5 minutes of flight.

Upon joining, if you're mid air (logged off flying) xp flight or free fly will be enabled automatically. If you have free fly, it will be automatically enabled when you join regardless if you're mid air (except if you have an elytra equipped) and when you move back into the flight height.

{% hint style="info" %}
**XP & free fly only works in the main world**\
Nobody can fly in the nether or end, even VIPs
{% endhint %}

### Flight range

You can fly anywhere in the overworld between **Y 55-1000**. When going below Y 62 you will get a chat notification that you won't be able to fly much lower. When going below Y 55, flight will be disabled. After one warning notification is sent, a 25 second cooldown will incur to prevent spam (ex. if you have a base at the Y level and dip in and out of the warning range often)

### Why slower & height limits?

In order to retain a true to Minecraft feel the flight speed has been lowered as to not make Elytra obsolete. Additionally, it has been disabled under Y 55 to prevent flight in caves, making them more challenging.

### Commands

**`/xpfly`**\
**`/fly`**

# Enchantment upgrade tables

Enchantment upgrade tables allow you to upgrade your existing enchantments on tools to higher levels past vanilla maxes using vibecoin and xp. Most enchants can be upgraded to level 6, but some range as high as 10. More valuable enchant upgrades such as looting or efficiency cost more vibecoin to upgrade, however xp cost is a flat rate on all upgrades of **`5 * enchant level`**.

Tables are identifiable by their purple particle that emits around the book. Right-click holding the tool you'd like to upgrade to open the table. All tools except crossbows,maces and spears are currently supported by upgrade tables.

Enchantments which have had their vanilla max levels raised are shown on the table below

| Enchantment | Max level | Vibecoin cost per level |
| --------------------- | :-------: | :---------------------: |

# Color on item names & signs

Signs & item names can be colored using colorcodes in anvils.

Use classic preset colors from the table below, ex. `&cRed` for red text, or for HEX:\
on signs use `&#hexcode`, and in anvils use `&x&`**`0`**`&`**`0`**`&`**`0`**`&`**`0`**`&`**`0`**`&`**`0`**, with each zero representing one character of the hex code, ex. `&x&e&b&4&034Red` for "Red" written in a custom red hex color.

{% hint style="success" %}
You can get this book in-game for quick reference using **`/kit colors`**

# Mob head drops

All mob heads have a chance to drop when killed, supported up to 1.21 mobs (excluding new wolf variants from 1.20.6). Looting bonus applies using **`drop chance + (looting level / 100)`**. Below shows all the obtainable heads and their base drop chances.

# Extra game sounds

The server features a bunch of additional sounds using existing MC sounds with adjusted pitch and volume to enhance the gameplay experience. If you wish, you can turn these sounds off using the[ profile menu](/general/profile-and-customization). Most sounds emit within a radius like regular sounds, meaning nearby players will also be able to hear sounds created by you. Note that disabling hearing the sounds does not stop you from emitting them.\
\
The following actions trigger extra sounds:

* Moving items in your inventory
* Changing your selected item or scrolling your hotbar
* Sorting container
* GUI close/open
* Opening your /profile
* Hand swap
* Crouching
* Crafting
* Sleeping
* Teleport
* Item drop
* Furnace extract
* Portal creation
* Player login / disconnect nearby
* Applauding a message
* Using a command

# One player sleep

Only one player has to sleep to skip to day. While sleeping, the night smoothly animates to day. Once day arrives you may exit the bed, and all other players in survival will hear a chicken noise to indicate a night has passed. While sleeping you will make a snoring noise :zzz:

# Personal waypoints

Personal waypoints let you save locations and quickly teleport back to them. The amount of waypoints you can set is determined by your [rank](/general/ranks), limited to 5 for members, [up to 32 for VIPs](https://github.com/vibecentralmc/wiki/blob/main/survival/tweak-list/broken-reference/README.md)\
\
Regular personal waypoints can be set in the main smp world, while resource waypoints (starting with R) can be set in the [resource world](/survival/resource-world). The amount of resource waypoints that you can set matches your limit of regular sethomes. These limits are separate, so setting resource homes does not count toward your regular sethome limit, and vice versa.

### Commands

* **`/sethome <name>`** **`/rsethome <name>`** Set a [personal waypoint](https://github.com/vibecentralmc/wiki/blob/main/survival/tweak-list/broken-reference/README.md), or [resource world](/survival/resource-world) waypoint.
* **`/home <name>`** **`/rhome <name>`** Teleport back to a [personal waypoint](/survival/tweak-list/personal-waypoints) or [resource world](/survival/resource-world) waypoint
* **`/delhome <name>`** **`/rdelhome <name>`** Delete a [personal waypoint](/survival/tweak-list/personal-waypoints) or [resource world](/survival/resource-world) waypoint
* **`/homes`** **`/rhomes`** See a list of your[ personal waypoints](/survival/tweak-list/personal-waypoints) or [resource world](/survival/resource-world) waypoints

# Community waypoints

Warps let players can create public waypoints to notable locations like towns, shops, community farms, certain biomes, etc. If needed, warp owners can also choose to disable/enable their warps through the GUI for construction or other reasons.

# Reserved nights

Nights can be reserved using credits acquired in the [boosters](/survival/boosters) menu[ ](/survival/economy)for when you need a night to complete certain game tasks or [quests](/survival/questing). # Axolotl variant display

For convenience as well as transparency in sold items, especially on the [auction house](/survival/auction-house), axolotl variant is displayed on axolotl bucket items

<figure><img src="https://1928431324-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0jN7OpaUF8zRMNlkYif3%2Fuploads%2F27SJNnEOJotmUxe2JL7g%2Faxo.gif?alt=media&amp;token=75b63eed-883b-4934-a7bd-8934d0a21f72" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Persistent crop and flora growth

All growables and crops from wheat to vines will grow in unticked and even completely unloaded chunks, but at a lower tick speed than fully physically ticked chunks. This means, even when you're on the other side of the Minecraft world, or even offline, your farms will continue growing. This is exclusive to growables only, and redstone or other ticked behavior will be paused when unloaded. See our [chunk system](/technical/chunk-behavior) to learn more.

# Crops drop XP

Fully grown wheat, potatoes, carrots, beetroots, and nether warts have a 12.5% chance to drop 1-2 xp orbs when harvested.

# Mob rarities and mobdex

The mobdex is a collection of all the mob rarities you've discovered. You can discover mobs and add them to your mobdex by standing nearby them, right clicking them, or killing them. Rarer mobs are stronger and drop more xp. Note that once a mob is found by a player and added to their mobdex, the same mob can't be discovered again and added to other players mobdexes -- they will have to find another mob of the same rarity that hasn't been discovered by any players yet. Can you collect them all?

When opened, the mobdex displays your collection progress in % at the top, as well as every mob's head. When hovering over a mob head you can see which rarities of this mob you have discovered so far. Mobs that haven't been discovered are replaced by a black cube with a grey "?" and have the name greyed out when hovering over them.

Naturally spawned mobs can appear in 5 different rarities with a set chance:

* Common: 73.6%
* Uncommon: 18.0%
* Rare: 8.0%
* Mythical: 0.5%
* Legendary: 0.1%

## Important commands

**`/mobdex`** Opens your own mobdex

**`/mobdex <player>`** Opens the mobdex of the specified player. Note that the player has to be currently online!

# Elytra speed meter

While flying with an Elytra, your current speed measured in meters (blocks) per second is displayed above your hotbar. It updates every 0.25s/5 ticks

# Random Teleporting (RTP)

We offer a random teleport feature to easily get into the world and discover new locations. RTP always chooses surface locations and is designed to prevent choosing locations that are dangerous (i.e. above a lava pool, in the middle of the ocean, etc.). RTPs are available in the [main smp world](https://github.com/vibecentralmc/wiki/blob/main/survival/broken-reference/README.md) and [resource world](/survival/resource-world) and work slightly differently.

{% hint style="success" %}
For new players the first RTP will be free of charge.
{% endhint %}

To RTP, run **`/rtp`** twice, first to open the confirmation dialogue, and again to confirm.

### Main SMP RTP

* Bounds: **5K-20K** blocks from /spawn (outer 10K blocks of the world are excluded for folk looking to live more secluded and be outside of RTP radius)
* Costs: **50** vibecoin

### **Resource World RTP**

* Bounds: **10K** blocks from resource world spawn (full size of the world)
* Costs: **15** vibecoin

### Nether, End, etc.

Unavailable

# Resource World

The resource world is a dedicated for gathering fresh resources to your hearts content, intended to help preserve the main smp world and keep it tidy. Some [quests](/survival/questing) are resource world specific, and offer extra rewards.

Use **`/warp resource`** to return to your last location in the resource world (or spawn if its your first time)! You can run the command again to return to the resource world spawn.

* Resets every few months
* World dimensions are **20k x 20k** blocks from spawn (X0, Z0)
* Consistent with the main world, this world generated with Terralith, and there’s no mob griefing or fire spread
* RTPing costs a discounted price of **15** vibecoin
* [Resource sethomes/waypoints](/survival/tweak-list/personal-waypoints) allow you to save waypoints in the world
* Your location in the resource world persists when you change worlds, so you can return back to the resource world and be in the same place you left off
* Daylight cycle is disabled
* Nether & end is shared with the main world ones
* Claiming, setting warps and regular sethomes is disabled
* Reduced hostile mob spawns compared to the main world

### Vibecoin loss on death

# Boosters

Boosters are a diverse range of temporary quality of life enhancements and perks that you can activate at any time in [survival](https://github.com/vibecentralmc/wiki/blob/main/survival/broken-reference/README.md) with **Ⓑ** Boost Points

All boosters are available in both a base tier and an upgraded tier, which offers longer lasting and or stronger perks over the base tier. Though the upgraded tier requires a higher number of Ⓑ Boost Points, it offers a better deal and is better value than purchasing the base tier multiple times for the same benefits.

Boosters can be viewed and purchased through the Booster menu using the `/boost` command

<figure><img src="https://1928431324-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0jN7OpaUF8zRMNlkYif3%2Fuploads%2FFLhqF82Z2M0JWnqnHQmm%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=85ff2bc8-7647-442c-a8b1-ad8e346b337a" alt="" width="346"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Land Claiming

Claiming is an extra precaution that protects your land from griefing & theft. It ensures only those you allow can build and interact within it. While it's not necessarily required, it's most definitely recommended to protect your work!

{% hint style="info" %}
Every hour of play time, your claimable block limit will increase by **350** blocks. You can view your claim blocks in **`/claimlist`** or **`/profile`**
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="success" %}

### No-grief guarantee

Per the [rules](/general/community-guidelines), griefing & stealing is not allowed even on unclaimed land! If you're griefed or stolen from under any circumstance you may contact [staff](/general/ranks#helper) on our [Discord ](/general/discord)or in-game to have the damage rolled back.
{% endhint %}

## Checking claim bounds

* Right click while holding a stick to highlight claims where you're looking
* Shift + right click to highlight all nearby claims

*The highlighted claim(s) will appear with gold blocks and glowstone on the corners*

## Granting / revoking permissions

* **`/trust <name>`**\
  Opens the trust menu to give someone access to your claim(s). Applies to the claim you're standing in, or if in no claim all your claims. Use "all" for the name if you wish to apply the permission to all members.\\
* **`/untrust <name>`**\
  Remove someone's access to your claim(s). Applies to the claim you're standing in, or if in no claim all your claims

**There are 3 tiers of permission you can choose to grant others:**

<table><thead><tr><th width="287"></th><th width="120">Complete access</th><th width="121">Containers &#x26; mobs</th><th width="123">Buttons, levers, etc.</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Build &#x26; break</td><td>✅</td><td>❌</td><td>❌</td></tr><tr><td>Access &#x26; modify container contents (ex. chests, furnaces)</td><td>✅</td><td>✅</td><td>❌</td></tr><tr><td>Open doors &#x26; gates</td><td>✅</td><td>❌</td><td>❌</td></tr><tr><td>Interact with &#x26; damage passive mobs</td><td>✅</td><td>✅</td><td>❌</td></tr><tr><td>Trigger buttons, levers, pressure plates, etc.</td><td>✅</td><td>❌</td><td>✅</td></tr></tbody></table>

Permission management is done through the trust gui, opened after running the trust command.

## Claim Guide

### Step 1

It's important to note that claims are restricted to cuboids.To begin creating a claim, right click where you'd like one of the corners of the claim to be with a claiming shovel. If you don't have one, you can use **`/kit claim`**

### Step 2

Right click again on the opposite corner at the other side of your desired claim area

{% hint style="success" %}
**Height** doesn't matter, claims automatically expand from the bottom to the top of the world
{% endhint %}

### Step 3

If the claim meets minimum size and claim blocks requirements, it will be created and temporarily outlined in gold & glowstone. You can now use the [land claim commands](#commands) to add friends to the claim or manage it.

{% hint style="info" %}

# Server Sell Shop

Every SMP Season World comes with a servershop that's set up along with the player market in a nice landscape. Here you can sell many of the ressources you will end up with from farming, mining and ressource quests. This is one of the primary ways to earn [Vibecoin](https://github.com/vibecentralmc/wiki/blob/main/survival/survival/economy.md), the servers currency!

It can be accessed via the `/warp servershop` command or directly by `/warp market1`

# Market

The market is a massive community ran shopping district where players can build their own shops and buy or sell items for [vibecoin](/survival/economy), the in-game currency.\
\
The space is is divided into zones that expand with demand, always with terraformed land and paths ready. You can be warped to a random zone by using **`/warp market`**, but if you want to go to a specific zone, just add the number at the end: ex. **`/warp market3`**. Players can additionally create [community waypoints ](/survival/tweak-list/community-waypoints)at their shops for easy access.

{% hint style="info" %}
The market is also home to the [Server Sell Shop](/survival/server-sell-shop), right by **`/warp market1`**
{% endhint %}

# Community Tasks

Community tasks let players make quick requests to the community. Think of it like a community job listing board. You can ask for items or any other services you think somebody would like to do that takes <24 hours.

Tasks become available once you become a Member, and you can only have one task listed at a time. VIP players of any tier get an additional task slot, letting them list up to 2 tasks at the same time.

All task related interactions are done within the **`/tasks`** menu. When you create your task, you can set the icon, title, description, payment, and location. Once listed, the payment will be deducted from your balance. Once a player accepts your task, they can teleport to the location you set any time to easily get to the task location, or, if requesting items, a location with a chest for drop off. Once they mark your task completed, they will receive the payment. If a player marks your task as completed but did not complete the task, contact a staff member.

If a player accepts a task but does not complete it within 24 hours, the task will be cancelled and automatically relisted for another user to accept it.

While your task is listed, you can manage the task via the menu and update the payment, description, icon, or other attributes. You may also mark the task as completed or delete it here. If you decide to delete your task, your initial deposit will be refunded to your balance.

# Vibetown

Vibetown is the servers official town for player housing that’s completely community ran! It's the #1 go to location for those who want to base by others.

When claiming land in Vibetown, players should be mindful of building far enough away from existing builds. And rest assured, like anywhere else on the server, griefing is not permitted. That said, remember to use the shovel from /kit claim to claim your land for extra protection!

{% hint style="info" %}

From competing to get the best times on courses, or just chilling and playing at your own pace, to creating your own unique courses solo or with up to 10 friends (with [WorldEdit ](/general/misc./worldedit)access!), this mode is sure to be a great pastime—whether you just need a quick break from survival or want to dive in fully and dominate the leaderboards

Use **`/parkour`** to play!

### Featured courses

Every day, 3 random courses are selected to be showcased right in the lobby

<figure><img src="https://1928431324-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0jN7OpaUF8zRMNlkYif3%2Fuploads%2FeOKDrQaw9EBlUFPjuppN%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=cce05255-024c-4fd3-88c5-aba6f9debf27" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Global leaderboard

In addition to per-course leaderboards, a global board is available in the lobby which shows who has the most leaderboard dominance among all the courses. The purple number shows the amount of leaderboards the player is on, while the pts (points) value is what the board is sorted by. Points are given based on how high you scored on the individual leaderboards. The closer to #1 time in a given course, the more points you will receive from that course. If you are past 5th place in the rankings for the course, you won't receive any points from that course.

![](https://1928431324-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0jN7OpaUF8zRMNlkYif3%2Fuploads%2FcedYKTNt4fC8qYwUdAvd%2Fimage.png?alt=media\&token=f737f165-7bf2-4aaf-8d61-0cac99c85fd6)

To access your course menu, use the chest button on the bottom right of the main menu.

![](https://1928431324-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0jN7OpaUF8zRMNlkYif3%2Fuploads%2FeE8TCzkGP5Rm5l3t0HmB%2Fimage.png?alt=media\&token=f4f0a6d1-1d39-423f-987c-47d7008a005a)

Here, you can create and manage your courses, as well as access unpublished courses that have been shared with you. To create a course, you will be prompted to input a name and size. By default, you can only create a course 60x60 or smaller, down to 25x25. However, [VIP](https://github.com/vibecentralmc/wiki/blob/main/parkour/broken-reference/README.md) players can create larger courses, up to 200x200 depending on your tier. As a newcomer, you can create 2 courses, but this limit increases to 8 as a member and goes up to 30 depending on VIP tier.

### The course builder

The course builder is where you design your course, add checkpoints, set course time, and manage other settings. The course size is visualized by a world border, but is not shown once published.

<figure><img src="https://1928431324-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0jN7OpaUF8zRMNlkYif3%2Fuploads%2Fpj05N8baQhbJy7XxlwLG%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=27d07978-53f0-4c22-9fe3-38a567f4d824" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Once all course requirements are met (start & end location and difficulty set), you can publish the course. In order to ensure it's possible, you will be asked to play test the course. Once successfully completed, the course will be published and playable by everybody! You can optionally set the block/item that appears for the course icon in the menu. At any time, you can unpublish the course to edit it again, but do note that this will clear any leaderboard times for the course and will require another playtest.

### Difficulty

There are 6 difficulties you can select to display on your courses. It's important to set which you feel most accurately reflects your course to allow players to participate in course difficulties they're most comfortable with.

Available difficulties:

* Beginner
* Intermediate
* Advanced
* Expert
* Absurd
* Varying difficulties

# Protecting the community

The server has numerous systems in place to prevent bad actors & disruptive behavior to ensure everybody has a safe and enjoyable experience. This page outlines the precautions we take to protect players :)\\

**Movement analysis**\
We utilize a sophisticated machine learning anticheat that runs 1:1 simulations of legitimate movements on all players. By comparing the simulation to the input from your client, the game can catch and prevent cheating with extremely high accuracy.

\
**Block data obfuscation based anti x-ray**\
X-Ray is one of the biggest cheats utilized in public smps, and is extremely easy to use with just a resource pack. We combat this by tampering with the block data sent to players clients from the server in real time. While underground, the server tells your client that all solid blocks that should be out of your vision are a mixture of air and ore blocks. As players mine, the fake world data is replaced by the real block data if it should be legitimately visible to the player. The result eliminates the effectiveness of x-ray drastically because there's no way to tell which ores are real or fake until you are directly in front of them or mine them. With decent latency, this system is invisible to legitimate players, however high latency connections may see the fake ores for a moment before the the real block data arrives and updates on the client.\\

**Mining pattern examination anti x-ray**\
While block data obfuscation is nearly always enough to prevent cheaters, reverse engineering seeds is something that is possible under rare circumstances which can render the obfuscation useless. To combat this, we utilize systems trained on historical legitimate behavior from the server that examine mining patterns and alert staff of any suspicious behavior for investigation. In vibe's history, there has been no known instances of seeds being reverse engineered. Paper servers also take extra measures to protect seed integrity by default, by using a variety of different seeds for different terrain features & structures.

\
**Exploit prevention**\
Game breaking exploits are patched on the server to ensure everybody plays fair.\
\
Notable exploits we've patched include but are not limited to:

* Swamp clay patch diamonds
* TNT duplicators
* Piston duplication
* Invulnerable end crystals
* GUI/packet based item duplication
* Lava pool debris\\

**Packet analysis**\
Incoming packets from clients are cross verified to ensure the server can safely accept them. Additionally, the server will drop legitimate packets received from clients if they exceed 700 within a 5 second period.

Typically unmodified clients avg. \~2-50pps, but this value can reach up to around \~160pps depending on activity. For this reason, a rate of 160 or more pps for over 5 seconds is considered malicious by the server.

\
**In depth activity logging**\
Virtually all user interactions with the server and its features are saved even down to niche actions to allow a full recreation of events, making any damages easily reversable. If needed, staff can view user history and selectively roll back events, making any sort of griefing/robbery, feature exploitation, or other misconduct incredibly easy to handle. This allows us to never have to guess when investigating user issues and is also what allows us to offer our no-grief guarantee to players.

\
**Content filtration**\
We have various filters spanning chat, signs, books, and anvils to prevent misconduct. Through deep analysis of players messages, the server is capable of intelligently recognizing and preventing chat misconduct, including but not limited to spam-like content & repeated message spam, disallowed sites, disallowed language or characters, chat flooding, and more.\
\
\
**Bot prevention**\
Analysis of auth, join, and chat behavior protects the server with preemptive identification and mitigation of bot attacks. In the unlikely event our layer 7 filtration fails and worst comes to worst, the server is capable of locking down and only allowing previously identified players to connect, ensuring uninterrupted access for legitimate players.

\
**Real-time staff alerts**\
The server will automatically alert staff via Discord with warnings regarding server performance drops, auto mutes/bans, and other notifications to ensure the server is monitored around the clock. This system allows us to act as quickly as possible if anything urgent requiring staffs attention happens.\
\
Players may also use our ticket function on Discord to privately contact staff with any concerns or to reach out for help.

\
**NBT filtration**\
For players in creative mode, NBT data is filtered and sometimes stripped on a packet level from items they add to their inventory whether via saved hotbar, client, or by other means. This ensures no bad NBT can impact the server or players.

\
**Redstone rate limiting**\
Player's redstone is rate limited to prevent users building lag machines. By keeping track of who placed what redstone and the rate at which their combined redstone is pulsing, the redstone will be destroyed and if the incident is severe enough and suspected as a lag machine, the player will be automatically banned.

\
**Backups**\
As a last resort or if data becomes permanently corrupt, damaged, or otherwise lost we can selectively restore data from the applicable backup. The entire server filesystem is incrementally backed up regularly, allowing full access of all recent or old server data.

Additionally, smaller selective hot player data is backed up and stored on the server on session start and end, world change, and death. The server will hold up to 100 backups in each action category per player before it begins rotating them, making the maximum backups held per player 400. Each backup stores a snapshot of the players location, inventory, enderchest, balance, experience, and other metrics.\
\
\
**Account linking**\
To access our Discord and view any channels, users must first verify their Discord account through the mc server via a simple automated process to ensure only server members can access the Discord. Not only does this cultivate a more close knit community space because everybody is able to recognize people by the same usernames, but it also provides us the ability to automatically synchronize display name/nickname changes, ranks, mutes & bans, and more across the MC server and Discord server.

# Entity (de)spawning and AI

As entities are one of the biggest server lag sources for multiplayer, the spawning rules have been heavily modified to accommodate for multiplayer. Our modifications aim to achieve a balance between providing a familiar experience and being computationally capable for the server.

## Tracking range

Entities are only viewable to players while they're within a specific range of them. This is called their tracking range. Tracking range is entirely clientside, and helps reduce latency and improve FPS by only rendering entities that are closeby.\
\
Players: 145 blocks\
Hostiles: 85 blocks\
Animals: 85 blocks\
Misc: 42 blocks

## Spawning

Per dimension, within [physically ticked chunks](/technical/chunk-behavior) (3 chunk radius or 48 blocks in all directions around players) the server will spawn no more than a certain number of entities of particular types. Chunks are consistently being loaded & unloaded, meaning the cap for how many of these entities can spawn is constantly shifting. The total amount of entities spawned & observed in the world is much higher than these caps (this is what observed entities refers to). Entities spawned when the [chunk was ticking](/technical/chunk-behavior) will persist within unticked chunks with an exception of hostile entities at a certain distance unless nametagged (see [despawning ](#despawning)section). No entities spawn in [unloaded chunks](/technical/chunk-behavior).

Entities are spawned spread amongst all players until their cap is reached. This means at peak activity times, you'll notice less entities around you as they're more spread out. Already existing entities around players are taken into account before spawning new ones. The server will favor spawning entities near players which are not around specific entity groups and are in spaces which meet those entities' spawning requirements over other players who are already around those entity types. This enables a more singleplayer-like and balanced spawning experience while keeping resource use reasonable.\
\
Spawn rate refers to how frequently the server checks conditions around players as well as computes which applicable player the mob should spawn near. An entity is not always successfully spawned every spawn rate, for example when the cap is reached or there are no locations near players meeting the spawn requirements.\
\
Consistent with Vanilla behavior, mobs will not spawn within a 24 block radius of players. With the other settings, this means auto farms cannot exceed a radius of 32 blocks for spawning. This makes the ideal AFK position just under 48 blocks away from the spawning zone (either above or below) vertically.\\

**Hostiles**\
Observed entities (avg): 300-800\
Spawn rate: 0.5 seconds

**Animals**\
Observed entities (avg): 50-200\
Spawn rate: 20 seconds

**Axolotls**\
Observed entities (avg): 10-40\
Spawn rate: 20 seconds\

### **Radius-based (mob cap) despawning**

{% hint style="info" %}
**Good to know**\\

* Nametagged and tamed mobs are exempt from despawning\\
* Overflow mobs are checked and despawned once every 65 seconds, meaning you can have mobs exceeding the limits temporarily but they will be at risk of being removed\\
* Radius is calculated from each mobs position, meaning you'll want to have a gap of at least the radius starting from the outermost mob

{% hint style="info" %}
A tick refers to the game loop firing. Without lag, the game runs at 20 ticks per second, updating entity AI, block changes, and everything else in the game.

## Entity AI

Entities AI allow them to interact with their surroundings, whether by moving, reacting to damage, or other events. Only entities which are close enough to players retain their AI. The server uses two main algorithms for determining an entity's AI: EAR (entity activation range) & DAB (dynamic activation of brain).\
\
EAR works by fully activating entity AI if they are within a defined radius of players. DAB takes this a step further and reduces the amount an entity is ticked the further away it is from players. It works on a gradient instead of a hard cutoff like EAR; instead of fully ticking close entities and barely ticking far entities like EAR, DAB reduces the frequency an entity is ticked (lessens their AI) based on the exact distance they are from players. DAB provides major optimization to entities performance hit without being very noticeable, and allows the server to spawn more mobs at the cost of reducing the AI or activity of mobs further away from players.\
\
In mob farms congested with entities, additional one-off algorithms selectively disable & re-enable random pathfinding movement, collisions, and in some cases entirety of AI, even when within EAR range.

### EAR ranges

Hostiles: 24 blocks\
Animals: 14 blocks\
Villagers: 14 blocks\
Raiders: 48 blocks\
Water creatures: 32 blocks\
Misc. entities: 8 blocks

### DAB

Begins ticking less frequently on a gradient when: >8 blocks away\
Slowest tick frequency: every 60 ticks when at a distance of 20 or more blocks away\
\
Ghast, Slime, and Endermen are exempt from DAB.\\

{% hint style="info" %}
When AI is fully activated, entities are ticked every single tick (20 times / sec).
{% endhint %}

# Chunk behavior

Chunk behavior has been heavily modified to accommodate multiplayer. Our modifications aim to achieve a balance between minimizing latency lag, providing a good gameplay experience, and being computationally capable for the server.

{% hint style="info" %}
**What are chunks?**\
Minecraft worlds are divided into a grid of 16x16x384 cubes called chunks. Your game loads each chunk individually to piece together the world around you within your view distance.
{% endhint %}

## **Summary**

The server view distance is 14 chunks in all directions from players, making the maximum view distance in one direction 224 blocks. The server will match your personal view distance setting up to 14 to avoid sending useless world data that is outside of your render distance.\
\
**Chunks within a 3 chunk radius (48 block radius) from players are fully physically ticked**. In fully physically ticked chunks mobs will spawn, liquids will flow, redstone will function, physics apply, and all other game mechanics work as usual.

**Unlike Vanilla, fully unticked/unloaded chunks don't exist within vibe**. Growables and crops from wheat to vines will grow in unticked and even completely unloaded chunks, but at a lower tick speed than fully physically ticked chunks.\
\
**Unloaded** chunks refer to chunks that are beyond the view distance of 14 chunks. Unlike Vanilla, crops will continue to grow at a slower speed in unloaded chunks. Entities spawned when the chunk was ticking will persist within unloaded chunks with an exception of hostile entities (unless nametagged), but no entities spawn in unloaded chunks.

## Detailed configuration

### Player curated

**These rules help ensure a good balance between gameplay & latency management for players**

* The server will send up to 14 chunks in all directions to players with respect to player view distance setting, making the maximum view distance 224 blocks.
* Players chunk view distance takes priority over the servers max view distance of 14 if lower.
* The server will send no more than 65 chunks data per player per second to prevent overwhelming the connection. After testing, we found this to be the optimal threshold before it began significantly affecting latencies for many.

### Server curated

**These rules help ensure the server doesn't throttle or lag from chunks**

* Only chunks within a 3 chunk radius (48 block radius) from players are fully physically ticked and eligible for mob spawning.
* The server will load at max 65 chunks per second per player.
* The server will generate at max 65 chunks per second per player.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Max chunk load rate is dynamic**\
Since chunks are a major lag source, especially at high activity times, the server will begin dynamically managing and lowering max chunk load rates, up to 70% to aid in keeping the server stable. The value will always bounce back to default 65 per second once the server is no longer under load or <20 players are online.
{% endhint %}

### Both

* Loaded chunks are delayed 20 seconds before unloading after they are no longer being loaded by a client. This benefits the client & server in instances where a client is teleporting between locations (ex. dying and returning) by allowing faster load times and benefits the server because it will not have to reload all the chunks again.\\
